march goals

March 2, 2015

Welcome March and the beginning of spring right around the corner. I’ve been pleased with how these categories of goals are working out for me. I think they are definitely helping me make small improvements in my life that might not otherwise get done. Here is what I have planned this month. Nagging task: organize purse I don’t even carry that much around in my purse but it’s still very frustrating to rummage around in it. I need a better system, so I think I’m going to try a purse organizing insert. Purchase: real pajamas I have really been wanting some actual pajamas that aren’t sweatpants and a t-shirt, and since I’m basically going to sleepaway camp in a few weeks, I…

february 2015 goals

February 3, 2015

Happy February! I know this is lots of people’s least favorite month because it’s winter with no sign of spring, but thankfully it is my birthday month so I’ve always had a sweet spot for it. :) Here are my goals! Nagging task: replace dead light bulbs This is pretty straightforward, but it’s one of those things that I tend to put off and then when we finally get around to doing it, it makes such a huge difference. Anyway, we’ve got a bunch of dead bulbs right now. Purchase: iPhone tripod I wanted to make my purchase this month something fun, but also that is practical and has been on my wish list for a long time. Since my phone…

2015 reading plans and goals

January 12, 2015

I feel like I’ve been talking a lot about plans and goals lately. I guess that’s normal around this time of year, so just call me cliché! I’m not done yet, either, so I hope you like this kind of thing. (Personally, I could read about other people’s goals and plans alllll day long, ha.) I want to read more this year. Last year I read 20 books which was a huge drop for me. Obviously it was a year of adjustment and that’s fine, but I’d still like to read more. I intend to do monthly book reports this year and hopefully there will be at least three books on each one. Here’s what I’m thinking: Reading challenge: First of…

january 2015 goals

January 5, 2015

Here are my first set of monthly goals for the year! I am choosing one goal for each of six categories that I want to make progress in. As I wrote about in my personal planning post, these do not include big, serious subjects (like health, spirituality, finances, etc.) but are nonessential tweaks I want to make to add happiness to my life. I think they will also help me on my journey to feeling light. Nagging task: Clean the car I keep my car fairly uncluttered and don’t leave trash in there, but I’m not the only one who drives it and lugging around two kids just begs for crumbs and random toys to be left in there. Purchase: Running…

one little word 2015 : LIGHT

January 1, 2015

As I’ve mentioned a few times already, this year I am taking part in Ali Edwards’ class One Little Word. I have been following Ali for years so I’ve been familiar with her approach of taking on a word to help guide your intentions for the year, but I never felt compelled to do it myself until now. A couple of months ago I was going for a run around my neighborhood and listening to a podcast – I am pretty sure it was this one where Jess Lively interviewed Ali. They were talking about the one little word concept and all of a sudden the word LIGHT popped into my head. It felt very clear and I just knew…
