  • Technical Difficulties

So I’m house-sitting and the internet isn’t working very well. I had to drive home tonight just to submit an assignment that was due by midnight, but my roommate double-locked the door so I couldn’t get in. Fortunately the wireless is working outside the apartment, so I am currently sitting on the concrete in front of my door. Lovely.

Anyway, I hope to get it sorted out tomorrow and be back in touch with you.

  • What’s Going On Here?

Things are a little different around here, as you can see. I’ve been blogging at kapachino.info for over a year now, and after awhile I started wanting a change. It was only a month ago that I realized, hello? My very own brother is a graphic and web designer! So I asked him to completely redesign my blog as a birthday gift, and he very willingly complied.

Brother David is employed by Rice University where he designed and maintains, among others, the Coffeehouse website and the Recreation Center website. Sometimes he takes on freelance jobs, too. His own website is under construction, but I have seen it in the works and it is very cool.

So welcome to the new kapachino blog! I hope you enjoy it. There will be some new features coming soon, and I’ll update you on those as we get there. But in the meantime, leave a comment with some love, because I know David worked really hard on this and I greatly appreciate it.

  • Here We Go

So, I’ve been blogging on Xanga for about three and a half years now, and I admit that I like doing it. A couple of months ago I started considering leaving Xanga to start a “real” blog. Then a week or two ago I was bored in class so I bought a domain name. It was so cheap! Only $1.24! Then I realized that I have to find someone to actually host the website for me. So I looked into it and discovered that it would cost me $6.95 a month if I signed up for two years. OK, I can handle that. Done! Then later I checked my bank statement and found that they had charged me the entire two years’ worth at once. SOOO now that I’ve got this website all paid up, I figure I’d better start using it. Although it’s tough to let Xanga go, I’m moving on to bigger and better things. Woohoo!
