  • list 11 : at my best when

    book of lists 11

For Thanksgiving I had a four-day holiday weekend and lots of plans to be incredibly productive. Unfortunately, on Friday night yet another stomach bug hit me and I was awake all night throwing up, so Saturday all my plans went out the window and I laid in bed all the live-long day. It got me to thinking about the conditions necessary for me to be at my very best, and this is what I came up with.

    book of lists 11

    I’ve had lots of sleep…

    and a cup of coffee

    It’s morning

I get some alone time to recharge

    The house is clean

    My family is happy

    I spend time in prayer

I snapped this picture on Sunday  morning when I was NOT at my best – bedhead, no makeup, pajamas and all – but I was feeling much better physically!

From here on out as we are heading into a new year and I’ll be starting a new chapter of my life as a mom of two in only a couple of months, I probably won’t be keeping up with this little project monthly. Look for it sporadically though, because I still love the book I’ve created and it’s a fun and quick creative outlet for me!

  • holiday minibook plans

    holiday minibook

Hey friends, hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! We had a full and happy day eating way too much as we had two dinners to fit in. I’m happy that Meredith was in a wonderful mood despite not napping and having lots of treats. :)

Today I’m holing up at home but trying to be super productive! I’m so thankful for my parents who brought our new bedroom dresser over today. It was free from a friend – hooray. Then my mom played with M. while my dad helped install new curtain rods and switched out all the outlets in our bedroom. Slowly but surely we are making progress!

David and I get a date night tonight (yay!!) but before then I’m trying to get some Christmas decorations put up. This weekend I want to knock out a couple of Project Life spreads and do a little bit of shopping – hopefully most of it online though!

I wanted to quickly share with you what I decided to do for a holiday minibook. I had planned on making my own, but then when I considered all of the other stuff on my plate, I realized that if I tried to make my own this year it probably wouldn’t happen. I still really wanted to do it, and a quick Etsy search made up my mind when I found this book by Petaline Prints. I love it so much and it’s almost exactly what I would have made! I didn’t post photos of the inside because you can see it all at that link. Also FYI, she has a really great blog that I am now following.

I’m not sure yet if I’ll be able to keep up with this book during the holiday season and post updates, or if I’ll be putting it together at the end. I also might change up the cover some more, but then again I’m fine with the simplicity of this. We’ll see – I’m trying to keep things as low-stress as possible! Either way, I’m pretty excited about it.

Hope you’re all enjoying the long weekend! See you next week!

  • project life 2013 : weeks 42 – 43

I am completely caught up right now! Feels good.

This spread is from October 14 – 27. It was normal everyday life stuff and I was really low on photos so there is more filler than usual. I kept a neutral color scheme and made it ultra simple because I just wanted to get it done.

I changed up my labeling style a little bit here and put them along the sides. Added in a “currents” journaling card.

Just photos, labels, and a stamp here and there. So easy!

That’s it! Now I’m out of here for the weekend and I’ll report back Monday! :)

  • list 10 : road trip must-haves

    DSCF4480

At the end of this week my husband and I are taking a road trip to the hill country to stay in a private cottage in an adorable town for two whole nights alone. I chose this month’s topic in honor of that!

    DSCF4479

a good audiobook or podcast queue

    snacks: something salty + sweet

    stitching (if I’m not driving)

    water

    GPS

The Instax photo is of our street, and I chose the background patterned paper because it reminded me of tires and wheels.

Next month: I’ll be posting on December 2 and if you want the topic in advance, let me know!

  • project life 2013 : weeks 40 – 41

    DSCF4427

Weeks 40 and 41 are from September 30 to October 13. I did an insert for our visit to the pumpkin patch, but above you can see the spread without it, and below with it.

    DSCF4429

During this time was really when fall began around these parts, so I went with the color scheme. I usually stick to more neutral colors but this was just perfect for right now.

I’ve been working hard on my niece’s stocking and I wanted to show the progress, but the bright Christmas colors would have really been out of place. Solution: turn it black and white!

    DSCF4431

Another adorable video had to be included! Also note that a bunch of these journaling and filler cards are from the Midnight edition. I can vouch for the fact that it goes perfectly with the Seafoam cards and I’m so happy I get to use it.

Nothing super exciting going on here, just mostly photos and labels.

Now here’s a closer look at the insert:
