My results: All-Rounder!

Your responses showed you fitting equally into all four reading personalities:

Involved Reader: You don’t just love to read books, you love to read about books. For you, half the fun of reading is the thrill of the chase – discovering new books and authors, and discussing your finds with others.
Exacting Reader: You love books but you rarely have as much time to read as you’d like – so you’re very particular about the books you choose.
Serial Reader: Once you discover a favorite writer you tend to stick with him/her through thick and thin.
Eclectic Reader: You read for entertainment but also to expand your mind. You’re open to new ideas and new writers, and are not wedded to a particular genre or limited range of authors.

My thoughts: While it may be a cop-out to just say that I fit into all the categories, it’s so true. Each one of those describes me perfectly.

My results: To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee

Perceived as a revolutionary and groundbreaking person, you have changed the minds of many people. While questioning the authority around you, you’ve also taken a significant amount of flack. But you’ve had the admirable guts to persevere. There’s a weird guy in the neighborhood using dubious means to protect you, but you’re pretty sure it’s worth it in the end. In the end, it remains unclear to you whether finches and mockingbirds get along in real life.

My thoughts: Um, this doesn’t describe me at all. I took the quiz several times to see if I could choose different answers to get a better result, but the ones I chose are the ones that describe me. Did anyone get an accurate description?

You are always trying to find the time to get back to your book. You are convinced that the world would be a much better place if only everyone read more. Part literate good citizen, part obsessive-compulsive bookworm, part book snob.

My results:

1)I can’t take this one so I’m just going to skip it and say I’m and All-Rounder as well.

2)I, Robot – I enjoyed this book, but I wouldn’t say the description fits me all that well (cold and calculating, etc). It also gave me Siddhartha, which seemed like an odd fit (don’t know what you believe in, lonely).

3)Literate Good citizen – according to this I’m not nerdy about reading? Wow, that’s a first.

Ooo! Fun!

I did the “What kind of reader are you?” quiz and my results are: Literate Good Citizen. I thought I was nerdy but I guess not :)

You read to inform or entertain yourself, but you’re not nerdy about it. You’ve read most major classics (in school) and you have a favorite genre or two.

I went back and did the “what book am I” one and I couldn’t disagree more but it’s definitely a book I do *want* to read! This book makes me and my life sound so sad, which it’s not but it was still a fun little quiz. (Confession the 1st time I took it suggested Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy! That was rather funny!)

Oh! And the meaning of the Catcher in the Rye diagnosis:

You are surrounded by phonies, and boy are you sick of them! In an ongoing struggle to search for a land without phonies, you end up running away from everything, from school to consequences. This SO made me laugh! I’m an eclectic reader as well as a dedicated reader (with the same tendencies as you). Those sum me up pretty well. But the book? Hilarious! I’m Watership Down, which is to say: Though many think of you as a bit young, even childish, you’re actually incredibly deep and complex. You show people the need to rethink their assumptions, and confront them on everything from how they think to where they build their houses. You might be one of the greatest people of all time. You’d be recognized as such if you weren’t always talking about talking rabbits.

#1: I got: Serial Reader!

You may read a lot or a little, but either way you’re a publisher’s dream, because once you discover a favorite writer you stick with him/her through thick and thin and eagerly await the next in the series; but even you need to discover some new blood from time to time!

#2: The Guns of August. Apparently I’m interested in war, lol. (News to me!)
