Random Lazy Day

September 23, 2009

Yesterday was awesome. I got eleven hours of sleep and didn’t change out of my PJ’s until around 5:30 p.m. when I decided to get off my bum and go for a run.It was a perfect way to spend the first day of fall, especially considering the weather was cool and rainy. What did I do, you ask? Well, for starters I caught up on lots of blog reading. I coveted a professional design for my own, thought about and rejected paying for one, and instead placed this book on reserve at the library: I ventured further out into the blogging community by browsing the links of people I follow, and added lots of new subscriptions to my Google Reader….

The End Of The Summer

September 22, 2009

I’m gathering that most people are ready for summer to end. It’s been a hot one, it’s true. People are ready for cooler weather, sweaters and boots, school supplies, football, the leaves changing colors, the smell of autumn in the air, holidays, new TV shows, and the colors of fall. Some of those things have already arrived, but today autumn officially begins. I’m enjoying most of the things that come along with the new season, but I can’t help but mourn the passing of summer. It’s my favorite season. just another manic monday

September 21, 2009

By now you should probably know that I’m a nurse, right? I mean it says so right there in my header. And you may or may not know that I’m an oncology nurse, which means I take care of cancer patients. There are some types of chemotherapy that can only be given in the hospital, and that’s a big part of what we do. We also have a lot of people come in because of dangerously low blood counts, or complications thereof (i.e. infection) because that is a major side effect of chemotherapy. I give a lot of transfusions. Almost everyone hates Mondays, and I’m no different. I really hate Mondays at work. Since a lot of our patients are…

Fifteen Hours Down, One To Go

September 17, 2009

I had every intention of writing something captivating today, but instead I’m working a surprise 16-hour shift. I’m still sick (barely, annoyingly), experiencing other body pains, and half of today was spent with The Student. I have a bit longer to go in this never-ending day, so I decided to take a break and give you this: Flickr Exercise of the Soul The rules: Type your answer to each question into Flickr search. Using only the first page, pick an image. Copy and paste the urls into Mosaic Maker. The result: ONE SOUL. 1. What is your first name? KATHLEEN (This is a picture of a place in Ireland that I’ve been. My name is Irish.) 2. What is your favorite…
