This is a simple challenge I’m setting for myself, to make ten cross stitch projects. It doesn’t have a deadline because I can’t handle deadlines right now.
I do, however, want to keep stitching. It’s one of my favorite crafts and something that I can pick up and put down as needed. Like a book, I want to always have one going. My style is simple, “modern grandma” if you will, so there’s no reason I can’t get through more projects than I do.
Also, they won’t count until I finish them off. Right now I have one that’s been done for a couple of months but I haven’t found the right frames for it, and I hope to be able to share it soon. (It’s actually one of my January goals.)
Any other cross stitchers out there?
From Amanda:
MEEEE! Except I have six projects going at the same time because I am insane and easily distracted by pretty new things.
From kapachino:
You also take on what seem to be very large and difficult projects. Me, I’m like…I’ll just do this flower, or this sampler. Nothing too hard please!
From Zarah:
Yes! I have recently discovered it (I’m a long-time knitter) after purchasing a kit from Rosy Little Things. I have another pattern and all the thread for a new project, I just need to get started. Good luck on your projects!
From kapachino:
Ooh, I love her blog but have never looked at her shop! Which kit did you do? I love the sampler style and may have to get one too. :)
From Zarah:
I’ve done two of her alphabet samplers – the daisy one and the winter woods one, and right now I’m stitching some felt ornaments from her Snowy Day kit. The kits aren’t always available, but when they are I try to snatch them up. =)
From Nora:
Does it count if you cross stitch but there is a pattern that you follow, as in printed on the cloth? I used to do them free form back in the day but that was AGES ago (like middle school/high school. apparently I was a nerd). I have a baby blanket i’ve been working on for a few years (yes, years) and i’m thinking that if/when me and Knight have kids that will be my motivation to finish it. I find it so soothing to do, though. Maybe I’ll pull it out this weekend. Expect an instagram photo if I do :) Can’t wait to see your photos of the finished projects :)
