David and I aren’t married yet, but our little family already includes two dogs, Eddy and Cleo. We just expanded it a little further:
Meet Mary, our sponsored child from Uganda. She is three years old. I am so excited about this. I have wanted to sponsor a child through Compassion for so long, because my parents did it while I was growing up and I really believe in their program. I hope that Mary will grow up knowing a better life. I love her already!
She’s precious! I’m glad you’re imitating a good thing that we did, not one of our less stellar moments. I like the idea you’re helping a Ugandan, for the reason you decided to do so.
she truely is precious! congrats on the new addition. my parents did the same thing growing up and i always thought of the little boy they sponsored as my little brother.
My sponsored child is also from Uganda! I chose that country because my best friend Lauren told me about (and then I saw the documentary made about) the Lord’s Resistance Army and the night commuters who have to walk for miles to sleep at night. It’s one of the toughest stories for me about Africa. Not that there aren’t plenty of tough stories, but it was one that weighed really heavy on me for a long time. Every time I read anything about that country, I just felt weighed down. I like that I can help in some small way.
