Checking In

May 29, 2008

My friend Lauren from school called me today and was all, “Are you freaking out about the NCLEX yet? How much have you studied? How are you studying? When do you start work? What is our first week going to be like? Did you realized NCLEX is less than two weeks away?!?” Um, I wasn’t freaking out until I talked to her. OH MY GOSH NCLEX IS LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AWAY. AND I START MY JOB ON MONDAY, MONDAY AS IN FOUR DAYS FROM TODAY. So excuse me while I go hide myself away with some Quakes rice snacks, my dog, and my review book. Hopefully I shall emerge at some point this weekend for some air.

Thanks, Kathleen. It’s nice to know that someone has survived this. Right now it feels like taking 6 hours this June is going to kill me. But I’m going to make it! And then I’m going to freak out about the NCLEX! I just have to survive 12+ more hours, the HESI and the NET and 15 mos. (hopefully, given that I get admitted to a Fast Track program) of Nursing school first.

    NO BIG DEAL, right?

Glad you found me. Good luck on the NCLEX.

Thanks for your sweet comment. I will definitely continue to write. I’ll be praying for you as you start your new job on Monday and prepare for the test.

    Hi Kathleen!
Thanks for your message of encouragement on my blog. I was starting to freak out after my first day of review classes this week, but am feeling much better now that I have learned some tools during the course … I was unsure about taking review courses (too expensive in MHO), but now I think they are totally worth it!! I hope you enjoyed yours and that it may have made it easier for you to remember stuff and plan your study more effectively!! Good luck with your exam and don’t freak out, the hardest part is over which was getting through Nursing school!!! Take one day at a time, do the best you can managing work, study and leisure time and hope for the best :) I haven’t received my ATT yet, so have no idea when I’ll be taking my exam. I also start working THIS coming Monday and THAT is really freaking me out!! I am trying to figure out how to manage working as a new Nurse and studying for the NCLEX at the same time, but again, let’s only take one day at a time and do the best we can, right? Have a great first day and hope all goes well for you ( and me)!!
