Wedding Update

May 7, 2008

For those of you who are following, it is now approximately five months until my wedding. I figured I’d give you an update every once in awhile about it for those of you who are interested.

At this point I really haven’t done a whole lot more, but things are moving along slowly. Hopefully the planning process will pick up now that I’m done with school. What I have done since I last wrote about this:

  1. Chose the color scheme – brown and light blue.
  2. Met with the photographer that I want, although I have yet to get my parents to pay the deposit to book her for sure.
  3. Ordered save-the-date magnets. I wish I could show you what they look like, but I am having a hard time converting my proof into a format that will upload how I want it to.
  4. Decided on a honeymoon destination – Hawaii! Specifically, Kauai. I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS AND I WISH WE WERE THERE NOW.

Hmm, I thought that I had done more but I guess not. There is still SO much to do…ah, well, it’ll get done somehow.

    From Katy:

Wow. Good job, lady. You’re quick.

    Here’s what I’ve done:

-bought a dress but still don’t know how I’m going to wear it as all bridal undergarments cost as much as my life.
-decided on flowers but have yet to order them because they are coming from Sam’s and you’re not supposed to order until a month to a week before your event and oh hell that’s the window of time in which they will be delivered and OMG what if they arrive two weeks early and die?
-been offered future-sis-in-law’s wedding invitations from now-defunct wedding plans but have been to accept said offer because, um, it’s a sensitive issue.
-picked cupcake design and have been informed said cupcakes look like boobies.
-also have been offered adorable flower girl dress from future-sis-in-law’s now-defunct wedding plans but have yet to figure out if a white flower girl dress will look weird with an ivory bridal gown and will probably just go with it bc it’s free.
-freaked out multiple times about how to trim the damn guest list and scolded my parents for verbally inviting their ENTIRE small group from church.

    You win.

    From Erica:

Looked at the photog’s website. I’m impressed! They are beautiful pics, and I know she’ll do a great job for your wedding, if those are any indication!

    From Katy:

My sister is my only attendant and she is just wearing a black dress. I told her to just pick a dress she likes and that she will wear again.

    From Katy:

Wow! Well, I would love to have 300 guests, but we don’t have the space or the money. I’m sure every single one of your guests will be thrilled to be there, though!

Have a great time in Kauai, my brother had his honeymoon here and I make a living as a wedding DJ too. Aloha.

I love hearing about your wedding plans. Your colors will look fabulous, especially with a fall wedding. We went to Hawaii for our honeymoon and I loved it. Everytime I hear anyone mention Hawaii, I wish I was back on the beach of Lanikai.
