This is a light switchplate that I bought for my room a long time ago. I got it at Anthropologie for like $20. I love little details like this, and hopefully David will humor me with our room and just let me have a little bit of cuteness in it.

photo of the day, take two
Time for a study break… So I’ve been lax with my “photo of the day” feature (in the sidebar) for awhile since I got busy finishing up school and such, but I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately. First I thought, “I’ll change it to a photo of the week feature,” then I thought, “I’ll just get rid of it altogether,” before finally deciding to make a renewed effort at keeping it up. Folks, I am not a photographer, but I do enjoy pictures. I don’t know if you will enjoy my pictures, but if you don’t then you don’t have to look at them. However, if you click on the title to the picture, it will take you to a page where you can see the picture larger, and you can also read my commentary to said picture. Maybe you will enjoy that. I am going to try to keep it up as a practice of discipline, so the pictures may not always be interesting. The point is that they will be there. Thanks for humoring me with this endeavor! Now I’m going to continue my study break by going to eat Double Dave’s pizza buffet with my roommates for lunch.

oh, is that how it’s done?
I’m at school today for the last session of a review course I’m taking for the NCLEX. The room we’re in has two doors, and after a break I went to enter the second door, but it was locked from the outside. As I was standing there waiting for a friend to open it for me from inside, a girl I don’t know walked up behind me. She paused for a moment and then said to me in her most helpful tone, “Here’s the handle,” and she reached to open the door. She found it locked just as I had, and then understanding swept over her face.
Internet, if I hope to pass the NCLEX, I certainly hope that by this point in my life I know that a) turning a handle is what opens a door, and b) how to recognize a handle when I see one.

scripted
Last night I totally came home and watched Dancing with the Stars, Gossip Girl, AND The Hills. I don’t know what came over me, but I have to say that it was fun.
I was watching with my roommate Amanda and her friend Lilly, who is loud and hilarious. Everything is better when you watch it with her. When it was time to watch The Hills, we discovered that something went wrong with the DVR and it failed to capture the sound. We were determined to view the episode, so we turned on the captions. This inevitably led to us acting out the parts in each scene, and we even sang the theme song. I call it TV Karaoke.
If you’re bored, I highly recommend this activity. Especially with The Hills. It is an entirely different viewing experience.
