  • project life 2014 : weeks 11 – 12

We are on the mend in our house, worn out but trying to get back to normal. Liam is still a bit sick but is definitely over the hump. I have a very sore throat but so far nothing worse than that. Our dog is still crazy but we are managing it. So moving on!

With this I am caught up with Project Life posting! From now on I should post each spread every two weeks, approximately a week later. This is from March 10-23. The first week was when my best friend Becca was in town, and the second week was my last before returning to work.

I used the photo from my spring goals post, and just added the goals themselves right on top using the Phonto app.

Here I wrote about Becca’s visit and put in Liam’s monthly photo + info.

    Have a great week!

  • project life 2014 : weeks 9 – 10

If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook you might know that we are dealing with some serious dog anxiety problems, and as a result I haven’t had good sleep in almost a month. Last night was the worst because Liam is also super congested right now. So today I have crazy eyes but am powering through.

There was some good over the weekend though; I was able to do some Project Life and sewing, it was gorgeous outside so I got some running in and we cleaned out our garage. Did lots of cuddling and cooking too. So despite the lack of sleep I do feel ready for another week!

I’m almost caught up on posting my Project Life pages. From now on the spreads are going to be put together quickly since I’m working in what little time I can find on the weekends, so you’ll probably see a lot of the same thing.

This was from February 24 to March 9. I was still on maternity leave and so there are a lot of just regular life portraits.

During that time I also completed Liam’s birth cross stitch and totally cleaned out my closet.

I do love this method of journaling where I stapled a piece of vellum right onto the photo.

And another one in the books! Now off I go to get more coffee…

  • project life 2014 : weeks 7-8

I’m so close to being caught up with these posts! Bear with me and then I’ll only have them for you every couple of weeks. :) This one is from February 10 – 23.

I had to include that handmade Valentine’s card that Meredith brought home from school. I’m sure she didn’t really make it herself but she probably helped, and it was too cute. I wasn’t sure how to put it in since it was an odd size, and I wanted to be able to pull it out and open it easily. After much thought I decided to attempt to sew a custom sized page protector from an 8.5×11 and it was actually really easy! I hadn’t touched my sewing machine in ages but luckily it was still set up correctly.

I thought the death of poor Cleo needed a little extra journaling:

Right hand side includes Liam’s one month photo and stats:

I’m using these cards from the baby edition core kit to do his monthly updates because they’re so easy.

    That’s it for this one!

  • project life 2014 : weeks 5-6

This is a quick Project Life spread for you! It’s from the weeks of January 27 to February 9, which was just me on maternity leave and also included my birthday.

That’s it! My favorite thing so far is the week in review cards. Typing them up is super easy because I already write down the events of each day in a journal, and I can include most of what happens this way. If I want to write something more in depth then I will use a whole journaling card to do so, but usually this does the trick and I can just let it and the photos tell the story!

  • project life 2014 : weeks 3 – 4

More Project Life! I’m trying to get caught up with posting so bear with me. This is the week that Liam was born, so it all revolves around that plus settling in to maternity leave. This spread took me the longest to complete, mostly because I had to narrow down soooo many pictures, but it was still pretty quick. Here is the full thing below, without the inserts:

And here it is with them:

That gold heart sticker is actually what they use for babies to keep the monitor on them in the hospital. The lactation consultant gave it to Meredith when she visited us so it’s pretty perfect.

Even though I didn’t actually do birth announcements until a few weeks later, I thought it was more appropriate to include it here. I stapled it to a sheet of vellum so that it would fit in a 5×7 page protector, and you can still see the details on the back.

    IMG_5217

Then I used a regular 8.5×11 page protector for this souvenir record of birth with his footprints.

    IMG_5218

On the back of that I printed out his birth story and tucked it in.

I’m loving doing circle photos like this, especially when the background is distracting, and then journaling around the edges.

Looking at this makes me so happy!
