Another Last Day

Today was my last day at the part-time job that I have had throughout school. Although I am very excited to start my career as a nurse, I am sad to leave this office for many reasons. I have genuinely enjoyed getting to know the people there, and my bosses have been so accommodating to my weird schedule with school. Lately, this job has even paid my rent. But the main reason I’m sad to leave is because David works there. It’s where we met (for all practical purposes), where we became friends, and even where he asked me out the first time. I had a pretty busy/exciting day today. It started out with me going to Methodist to get “processed” for my new job. Basically I filled out a bunch of paperwork and got a physical. Although this in itself wasn’t exciting, the prospect of starting my new job in a week and a half is. THEN, I picked up my wedding dress! It is now in my possession. It needs ALL kinds of alterations, but still! What I will be wearing the day I get married is hanging in my closet! Getting Things Done

Oh my gosh. Stuff is happening, people. For starters, I graduated. After a longish boring ceremony, they finally announced, “You may now move your tassels from the right to the left,” and a shiver went down my spine. It was a very special moment. Then we sang “The Eyes of Texas,” and it was over. Yay me! Only one more hurdle to jump before I am an official RN. I have to pass the NCLEX, the state board exam. I scheduled it for June 11 at 8 a.m. I am nervous, and really need to kick the studying up a notch. To that end I am taking another review course this week. In fact, it is going on right this…

Wedding Update

For those of you who are following, it is now approximately five months until my wedding. I figured I’d give you an update every once in awhile about it for those of you who are interested. At this point I really haven’t done a whole lot more, but things are moving along slowly. Hopefully the planning process will pick up now that I’m done with school. What I have done since I last wrote about this: Chose the color scheme – brown and light blue.
