I can’t post a picture of my entire wedding dress, because David is Not Allowed to see it. But here’s a close-up of part of it. Which part? That’s a secret too.

Another Last Day
Today was my last day at the part-time job that I have had throughout school. Although I am very excited to start my career as a nurse, I am sad to leave this office for many reasons. I have genuinely enjoyed getting to know the people there, and my bosses have been so accommodating to my weird schedule with school. Lately, this job has even paid my rent.
But the main reason I’m sad to leave is because David works there. It’s where we met (for all practical purposes), where we became friends, and even where he asked me out the first time. In the file room, actually. When our lives got busy over the course of our relationship, there were times we’d cling to the fact that at least we’d see each other at work. Soon we will be spending a lot more time together, but not seeing him here is still an adjustment.
For old times’ sake I tried to get David to re-enact and let me record the scene where he asked me out and I asked if I could think about it. He wasn’t up for that, and I have no idea why not. So instead, here is a picture of us in a place that holds many memories for us.

Today
I had a pretty busy/exciting day today. It started out with me going to Methodist to get “processed” for my new job. Basically I filled out a bunch of paperwork and got a physical. Although this in itself wasn’t exciting, the prospect of starting my new job in a week and a half is.
THEN, I picked up my wedding dress! It is now in my possession. It needs ALL kinds of alterations, but still! What I will be wearing the day I get married is hanging in my closet!
Next I came home and watched the finale of “Dancing with the Stars” that I recorded (yay Kristi!) while working on my computer.
After that I went and bought a couple pairs of scrubs, then stopped by the hospital to see my friend Sara who just gave birth to a lovely baby girl yesterday! I’m so proud because she’s just recently gotten into “Gilmore Girls,” I of course lent her all of the seasons that I have on DVD, and she named her daughter Rory! Such a sweet baby.
The visit was short, and so I headed over to help David’s mom with something, got a salad at Wendy’s, then went to my soccer game. I was beginning to have quite a headache at this point, and when I started playing it became much worse. But thank God for ibuprofen, because I gulped down four of them and by halftime I was almost as good as new. And we even won!
And now…I am exhausted. Good night.

Getting Things Done
Oh my gosh. Stuff is happening, people. For starters, I graduated. After a longish boring ceremony, they finally announced, “You may now move your tassels from the right to the left,” and a shiver went down my spine. It was a very special moment. Then we sang “The Eyes of Texas,” and it was over. Yay me!
Only one more hurdle to jump before I am an official RN. I have to pass the NCLEX, the state board exam. I scheduled it for June 11 at 8 a.m. I am nervous, and really need to kick the studying up a notch. To that end I am taking another review course this week. In fact, it is going on right this moment. Perhaps I should be paying attention instead of blogging?
Our save-the-date magnets arrived in the mail, and I do like them except that I wish the brown was darker. I spent some time addressing them last night and I hope to have them out by the end of the week. But what I am most excited about is that we actually booked our honeymoon to Kauai, airfare, hotel, car rental and all. So really, the most important part is taken care of, right?

Wedding Update
For those of you who are following, it is now approximately five months until my wedding. I figured I’d give you an update every once in awhile about it for those of you who are interested.
At this point I really haven’t done a whole lot more, but things are moving along slowly. Hopefully the planning process will pick up now that I’m done with school. What I have done since I last wrote about this:
- Chose the color scheme – brown and light blue.
- Met with the photographer that I want, although I have yet to get my parents to pay the deposit to book her for sure.
- Ordered save-the-date magnets. I wish I could show you what they look like, but I am having a hard time converting my proof into a format that will upload how I want it to.
- Decided on a honeymoon destination – Hawaii! Specifically, Kauai. I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS AND I WISH WE WERE THERE NOW.
Hmm, I thought that I had done more but I guess not. There is still SO much to do…ah, well, it’ll get done somehow.
