    Home-Tour-One-Little-Minute-Blog-551

    >I seem to be including a house tour in every link roundup these days! Right now I’m totally in love with Miranda’s house and now I kind of want to build a new one. (see photo above by her)

    >If toddlers could text.

    >Definitely making these cookies this weekend.

    >Do you like birth stories? My friend Bryn has a new podcast out called The Birth Hour! I’m going to be on it soon and I’ll definitely let you know when my episode is up.

    >This is a genius idea for what to do with kiddo artwork and special papers.

    >The way Alicia describes her creating this embroidered quilt top for her daughter has me sighing and dreaming of the day I’ll be able to sit on the couch after my kids go to bed and eat Raisinettes while watching Netflix and just stitch, stitch, stitch. And it also makes me want to finish the quilt I’m making for Meredith.

What do you have going on this weekend? I don’t have much, a family lunch and a book club meeting. We’ll be discussing Americanah which I’m finishing up. What’s the weather like where you are? Does it feel like fall yet? The high is 93 tomorrow for us (insert big eyed emoji here) but I can dream, right?

    >What do you think about this home tour? It’s so pretty, but I don’t think I’d actually want to live somewhere like that. On the other hand, that cross-stitched pillow? I have to make one. (photo above)

    >What a cool idea for a weekly wall calendar.

    >Are you a blogger interested in doing sponsored posts? Here is a long list of companies to sign up with that can connect you with brands.

    >If you have a strong-willed, spirited, intense child (like I do), here are some book recommendations for you!

    >You know reading slumps are a thing, right? Here are some tips for getting out of one! (I need to do this now.)

    >Food is a big area we are focusing on to save money, and these are great tips on how to do so easily.

    >Fun idea for an easy kids’ meal.

I’m in a bit of a general funk lately, so this weekend I’m hoping to pull out of it a little bit by having a date night, trying some new wellness products I’m excited about, and getting a plan in place for working out and bringing back my morning routine.

Whew, I took a break from blogging this week while I was commuting and also to recover from Week in the Life. I’ve got some links for you today, and then hopefully regular posting will resume next week!

    seinfeld last line

    >Last lines of TV shows that will make you tear up, and I did.

    >I love a good book list, and this is an awesome one I’d love to complete: 21 books from the last 5 years that every woman should read.

    >And speaking of books, one of my favorite authors right now is Liane Moriarty. I’ve only read three of her books, but Laura has a complete guide to her.

    >This is so good. And perfect that it was published on Meredith’s birthday, almost as if it was written for her. (Thanks, Maggie R.!)

    >I love the library. It offers more than you know!

    >My friend Amanda spent a month working on this farm during the summer, and now I am totally in love with the animals and life there. Amanda said it was so amazing.

    >I don’t always remember to use Snapchat, but here’s how to use it and a good overview of why it’s fun! (I’m kapachinoblog over there.)

    >This week I downloaded the Google Photos app and synced my photos. I’m so excited to free up that space and have all my pics readily available. Since my only camera is my phone, the free version is great for me and maybe now I can discontinue my Flickr Pro account. Here’s a review of the app if you’re curious!

    >I love how Rebekah addressed the issue of when our kids take small steps outside the box of gender stereotypes. My kids (like most, I assume) do this all the time and it’s SO not a big deal, so let’s stop making it into one!

This week I had basically no free time so this weekend I plan to catch up on chores and meal planning, hopefully start on my Week in the Life album, and go on a date with David (it’s been awhile).

    Happy Friday!

    >This is such a simple house, but the plants! Oh, they make it amazing. I need more. (See photo above)

    >I think this weekend I’ll make these no-bake chocolate oatmeal cookies for an afternoon snack (for me, mostly).

    >Also in the food arena, I love this approach to family meals (and it is similar to what we do). There is also a free menu planner printable that is simple and flexible.

    >This week was breastfeeding awareness week. But for anyone who was unable to or struggled to breastfeed their baby, here is a great post.

    >I need more short funny video clips in my life. This vine made me think of the classic sheep crash which still makes me laugh.

    >Social media: I can’t keep up! I’m still pretty regularly on Instagram. I’m trying to get back to Twitter. I just went through and cleaned up my Pinterest feed (you have to stay on top of that or the “picked for you” pins will take OVER). I check in with weekly highs/lows and weekend plans & recaps on Facebook. Snapchat is still crazy and it’s hard for me to remember to use, but I’m trying (@kapachinoblog over there).

What’s up with your weekend? Tonight Liam gets his hair cut (long overdue); a friend of mine is going to teach me how! We actually don’t have anything scheduled other than that, but a lazy weekend is not going to please a certain 4-year-old no matter how I sell it, so I’m brainstorming a few activities!

    >I love this idea from Miranda for teaching kids about healthy eating. We’ve started using it with Meredith and it seems to be clicking with her!

    >I’m in love with this girls’ room. Makes me want to really finish up the kids’ shared space.

    >Meredith turns four this month, and we are just having family meet us at the park for pizza and cake. But if I had it in me to do a themed party, I might choose one of these adorable literary ones.

    >A cool website that pairs a YA audiobook with an adult classic title and gives them both away each week during the summer. I haven’t heard of a lot of them, but hey, free audiobooks!

    >Benefits of having a cat. Lol, and so true.

    >Nicole has such gorgeous outfit photos these days. I love the dress in this post.

    >I really like my Internet pal Amanda‘s weekly emails about parenthood. It’s called Madame Ovary, so that’s awesome. Sign up for them here.
